for a Mid to Senior level Building Enclosure professional for our
Building Enclosure consulting practice in these markets. You will
work with our local office leaders and Facilities technical
professionals from around the US to deliver necessary services in

As a part of our team, you will assist in Building Enclosure
investigations and remediation design, on-site accessibility
reviews, Property Condition Assessments (PCA), and Facility
Condition Assessments (FCA) for a wide range of clients. Work may
include on-site assessment of all major components, building
systems, and other infrastructure. This will be balanced with
in-office/hybrid report assessments, and team meetings/trainings.
Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the
commercial, retail, multi-family, hospitality, senior living,
industrial, medical, and/or governmental sectors. Assessment
methods will be primarily visual examination, but may include
non-destructive testing (IR Scans, Moisture Meters, fenestration
testing, etc), and destructive examinations - all of which we will
train you for if you're unfamiliar with the process! Client
deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to
working with an A/E team to develop restoration design documents
and construction administration.
General Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage with local Terracon office leaders.
- Assist and help project manage -internal teams and coordinate
with external -project teams. -
- Assist in managing and participate with teams in the
performance of -building diagnostics projects that include, but
-are -not limited to roofing, -fa--ade, waterproofing, foundations,
field testing. -
- Assist in developing and/or reviewing design construction
documents related to rehabilitation or remedial building system
projects based on our recommendations for system improvement.

- Capable of analyzing technical aspects of subject area,
defining scope and selecting problems for investigation, and
assisting in recommending design changes.
- Peer review -construction -documents, protocols, Scopes of
Work, and other similar documents associated with -various building
system design -and -repair/restoration. -
- Perform and/or direct field testing and investigations for the
diagnosis of building system issues related to condition,
performance and service life. -
- Prepare and write reports that are professional in language
with a logical presentation of technical ideas and recommendations.

- Prepare proposals, develop scope of services, establish fees,
manage projects from -personnel, financial and schedule standpoint,
for approval by senior level professionals.
- Work closely with senior-level project manager and/or
Registered Architect of Record to gain project management and
architecture experience.
- Assist on or perform Building Enclosure investigations and
remediation design. May also assist with on-site accessibility
reviews, Property Condition Assessments (PCA), and Facility
Condition Assessments (FCA) for a wide range of clients.
- Interacts with client and project team in developing scope of
services and communicating project progress.
- Mentor younger, junior and/or less experienced Facilities
division professionals to cross train on building enclosure
services. -
- Participate in one or more technical/professional
associations.
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to
provide constructive criticism.
- Possess a growth mindset and understand that learning is a
two-way street.
Requirements
- 4-8 years' of experience -in building enclosure consulting,
including but not limited to condition assessments, destructive
investigations, system diagnostics, and remedial design. -
- B.S. in Architectural Engineering, or Bachelor of Architecture
are required. Any specialization in Building Science is a plus.

- Architectural Intern designation required and ability to become
a Registered Architect
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. -
- For Los Angeles: regional travel, generally in and around the
Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego areas. Some travel to the
Bay Area and Sacramento.
- For East Bay: regional travel, generally in and around the Bay
Area and Sacramento areas. Some travel to Los Angeles Metro
Area.
- -Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all
projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety
issues or concerns to management.
- Strong written and oral skills.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all
projects.
- Desire to learn, excel, take on stretch assignments, and
willing to ask questions/for help!
- Possess a growth mindset and willingness to learn new
subjects/technologies.
- Software: Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, Bluebeam Revu,
AutoCAD, AdobeSign Great to have but not required:
- Credentials such as CEM, Cx, RRC, RRO, RWC, REWC, RBEC a plus.

- Knowledge of the California Building Code.
- Basic knowledge of the accessibility standards of the ANSI
A117.1, the 1991 and 2010 ADA Standards, the Fair Housing Act, UFAS
