By blending people-centric leadership with disciplined operational strategies and purpose-driven growth, Barry-Wehmiller has become a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:As a Project Engineer Construction/Construction Field Engineer, it is intended that you will start this position as a long term, perm career development position, by spending time working in areas, such as safety, estimating, preconstruction, field engineering and as assistant project manager. -You will work with and under the supervision of a Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager Construction, or Site Manager Construction on all assigned duties, in the planning, design and construction management of various design-build projects.These positions are training positions and we are looking for local applicants or applicants that can relocate to one of these 2 core construction offices.Applicants must -have 1 - -4 years of construction industry related experience, -a portion of that experience directly involved with helping manage construction projects. - You will be trained -to support our site managers and construction project manager positions, -ultimately to move into those roles in the future. - - Ideally, this person will want to gain experience in the building of industrial structures in manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, Pharma and/or food process facilities. -We have 3 current growth openings. (2 are located in Concord, NH office and the remaining one is Ft. Worth, TX).Responsibilities: -

  • This position includes responsibility for any assigned construction activities from concept through completion. -
  • Will learn to interface with our Fortune 500 clients, who are industry leaders, to provide quality project execution.
  • Highly desired is some experience overseeing building/renovations of Facilities in the manufacturing of food, beverage, consumer products or life science industries.
  • Travel -this position requires flexibility to travel. -This includes some availability to travel for possible extended assignments at client facilities; the vast majority of this travel will be regional to construction job sites and to attend Client meetings.Requirements:Field Engineering
    • Participate in implementation of quality control program activities
    • Review and update RFI's, Sketches and Bulletins on Field Drawings
    • Prepare daily reports and monitor subcontractor activities as directed by the Site Manager
    • Develop and maintain punch lists
    • Continually update the project schedule
    • Develop and track phasing plans and 3 week look ahead schedules
    • Coordinate upcoming major activities with the client teamConstruction Project ManagementAssist in the following
      • Cost estimating -
      • Preparing bid documents and scopes of work
      • Help prepare project specific Safety Plans
      • Help conduct on site safety reviews
      • Prequalifying vendors and subcontractors
      • Maintaining master project cost data base
      • Developing project schedules and phasing plans.
      • Updating project estimate based on review of 30/60/90 percent Drawings
      • Participating in developing project bid list
      • Performing subcontractor scope reviews
      • Participating in developing subcontractor Notice to Proceeds
      • Review and establish with the project manager critical dates prior to proceeding with detailed scheduling
      • Processing RFI's, Bulletins and submittals
      • Managing change orders and subcontractor invoices
      • Maintaining budgets and cost forecasts
      • Obtaining and tracking closeout documents
      • Participate in post project review with key project personnelEducation
        • This position requires a BS Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Civil or Construction Management or other related technical field.Licenses and certifications
