Job Description:
Primary Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Assistant
Vice President of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Annual
Giving plays a key role in the university’s comprehensive annual
giving program focused on shaping sustainable growth in donor
participation and pipeline development through digital
communications. This position conducts development activities
within a team structure and collaborates extensively with
colleagues across campus in the best interest of university donors
and prospects. The work of the entire team includes, but is not
limited, to: Direct Mail, Email, Day of Giving, Crowdfunding, Call
Center, Social Media, Texting, Matching Gifts, Affinity Programs,
and Student Philanthropy. Essential Functions Build and manage
digital annual giving strategies to attract alumni, faculty, staff,
parents, students, and friends of the university through annual,
monthly, and matching gifts initiatives to support the university.
Leverage technology, brand marketing practices and audience
specific messaging (awareness of interests, generational influence,
or affinity) to develop a consistent and robust donor experience.
Help to create and execute email communications for the annual
giving team and oversee the relationship with various project
managers from schools/units to help execute email campaigns for
campus partners. Collaborate with annual giving team members,
development officers, and others representing colleges or units to
help plan, manage, and execute crowdfunding projects. Help to
support the giving day platform and digital communication plan for
Pacific Gives, the university’s annual giving day Manage social
media campaigns related to annual giving activities. Develop and
manage tracking systems, coding, and custom reports to measure the
impact of annual giving programs and initiatives. Actively
participate as a staff member within the Development and Alumni
Relations Division, attend division-wide meetings and trainings,
support division-wide priorities and initiatives, and serve on
committees as time permits. Maintain knowledge of campus-wide
activities that would be of interest to messaging themes; regularly
utilize collaboration opportunities with alumni relations, donor
relations, athletics, and planned giving. Perform other related
duties as assigned. University of the Pacific recognizes that

students, faculty, and staff. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s
Degree One (1) year of work experience in an annual giving, alumni
relations or fundraising, OR two (2) years of experience working in
marketing, communications, public relations or similar
transferrable role. Preferred Qualifications Strong written
communication skills, with the ability to articulate a message of
support. Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding
organization and time-management skills. High comfort level in
utilizing digital marketing and communication platforms for email,
texting or social media strategies. Familiar with A/B testing of
digital initiatives to optimize strategies. Graphic design
experience with ability to utilize Adobe Creative Suite software.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with
colleagues, donors, and contacts on and off-campus. Throughout the
year, will manage multiple requests, timelines, and priorities.
Professional verbal communication skills, including ability to
communicate directly and effectively with others in a concise and
clear manner. Propensity to think out of the box on strategies;
take initiative to organize and follow through with tasks to meet
deadlines. Dedicated to a customer service-focused attitude.
Commitment to excellence, professional development, and personal
growth. Direct experience working with data, data analysis, and/or
database software, as well as fluent in using MS Office Suite,
which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Fluent in

diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in
advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university
setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive
