Work Schedule: Thursdays, 1-3:50 p.m., in-person at our Concord,
NH, campus:
NHTI-Concord's Community College is seeking qualified applicants
who are interested in teaching on-campus at the college on a course
by course basis.Semester: Spring 2023The instructor will be
responsible for preparing and teaching the following 16-week
course, which will meet Thursdays, 1-3:50 p.m., in-person at our
Concord, NH, campus: SOCI 180C Environment and Society Society and
the natural environment are vitally linked in a number of ways. In
this course, students will explore these connections at various
levels from the local to the global, but with a focus on the
students' lives and local communities as important case studies.
This course focuses on the social causes of environmental problems,
the social consequences of environmental degradation, and social
responses to environmental issues. The course is designed to
provide students with the sociological tools and hands-on
experiences that will help them gain a better understanding of
local and global earth systems related to food, energy
transportation housing, waste, and water, as well as the qualities
of ecological integrity, social and racial justice, resilient
communities, and economic well-being. Lecture Hours: 3
Lab/Practicum/Clinical Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3 Pay rate is $699
per contact hour.The minimum qualifications for the position are as
follows:Education: Master's degree with background in Sociology
and/or related disciplines and demonstrated ability to teach
successfully.Applicant must reside within commuting distance of the
Concord, NH, campus from January 17, 2023, through May 4, 2023.
