OverviewSkills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress (STEP)
Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca
Family of Agencies. STEP provides intensive, short-term and
stabilization services enabling youth to reintegrate into school
and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health
treatment. STEP clients participate in daily groups, attend family
therapy sessions, meet with a psychiatrist, and receive case
management and medication management services.Our Crisis Counselor
facilitates daily group session and individual supports in
collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. You will provide a
safe and nurturing environment for youth enrolled in the program,
and will intervene as necessary to assist the youth in developing
their skills for growth and maintaining stabilization. As the
Crisis Counselor you will participate in the daily clinical
treatment planning with the multi-disciplinary team and assist the
Crisis Therapist with case management duties as appropriate. The
split counselor floats between the Contra Costa (Concord) and
Solano (Fairfield) STEP programs on a regular basis and you will
received prior notice from program supervisors. Your schedule will
involve two days a week at each program with the 5th day of the
week switching back and forth between the locations.Seneca Family

serve.Responsibilities Engage youth in daily groups focused on
supporting youth in developing coping skills. Intervene with the
clients' behavior as needed, providing stabilization services
if/when needed. Complete daily progress notes. Participate in
weekly supervision with the supervisor. Maintain accurate
documentation and paperwork including, but not limited to, mental
health notes, incident reports, time sheets, petty cash, and
mileage. Provide transportation for youth and families when
necessary. Intervene with the clients' behavior modification
programs as needed. This includes physical management of clients
(implementing of Seneca Center's Equilibrium Model Training) as
necessary. Maintain professional behavior at all times,
appropriately representing Seneca's mission and philosophy All
other duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications Bachelor's
degree Must be at least 21 years of age Valid California driver's
license and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy Clearance
of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal
licensing or certification requirements Proof of COVID-19
vaccination and booster required Experience working with youth in
residential care preferred Bilingual Spanish skills a plusSchedule
Full-time; 8AM - 4PM Monday & Wednesday (Fairfield) Tuesday &
Thursday (Concord) Friday (switch off between locations)Benefits
Starting at $22 per hour. Actual salary is dependent on creditable
experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
