Job Description: The role of the architectural planner is to support the development of projects being designed and constructed by the firm. You will work closely with the facility, process and packaging teams within Design Group, equipment vendors and our clients to define projects to be completed within the Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Consumer Products industries. This position will be based in Concord, New Hampshire, however Design Group is a national firm and the projects that are worked are located throughout the country. At a minimum, this person will: Work closely with the assigned project manager, design teams, outside consultants, equipment vendors and clients to determine the project requirements. Work with the facility process and packaging design teams, outside consultants, equipment vendors and clients to develop conceptual and schematic design level documents for the project developed. During completion of the Construction Documents, Construction Bidding and Construction Administration, assist projects by completing general coordination and upkeep of the overall project model, running clash detection, completing file conversions and transfers, development and maintenance of BIM coordination model, etc. Work with the facility design disciplines to create the Construction Documents as well as complete the Construction Administration Services required for the execution of projects. Assist Preconstruction and Construction Management teams, when requested. The successful candidate will be provided the opportunity to work with the design team of their degree to further their knowledge and experience in that field, with the goal of transferring to that design field in the future. The future opportunity to transfer to one of the other services provided by Design Group will also be provided. Travel to projects sites and other Design Group offices as needed to participate in project meetings, collect information about project sites as well as to work with the project team to determine and define a projects requirement. Requirements: Internship, student projects or work experience involving the development of facility layouts and the creation of construction documents. Knowledge of codes and standards, building materials and methods of construction. Excellent written and verbal communication presentation skills Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D and/or Revit. Education: Degree in architecture design, engineering, or a 2 yr. or 4 yr. technical training/certification program. 4+ years appropriate related experience (architectural design or facilities planning) working on industrial and manufacturing projects, can be substituted for degree/certification.
