Position Summary

The Director of Advisor Marketing will be responsible for leading and overseeing AssetMark's advisor marketing program, driving advisor adoption, and be accountable for supporting the growth objectives of our advisors. Reporting directly to the Chief Channel Officer, this role will be responsible for program management, education, and act as a subject matter expert for a variety of marketing solutions such as website creation, SEO strategies, digital lead generation campaigns, social media strategies leading to accelerated growth within AssetMark's advisor base. The Director will be responsible and accountable for the results of the program. The Director will work with 3rd party solutions, business partners in our sales and business consulting teams and will help guide the overall client experience with AssetMark.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual with a passion for supporting advisors with the implementation and education of marketing and branding tactics with experience in digital lead gen and prospect marketing, can create compelling content, and deliver exceptional educational, event-level presentations to educate advisors on best practices. Experience in financial services is greatly preferred, but a strong background and passion for marketing are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Advisor Marketing may include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Acquire a deep understanding of 3rd party technology systems used to deliver marketing solutions to champion the program development and implementation of the solution(s) designed to support advisor needs
  • Act as the program's subject matter expert and advocate within our sales organization, business consulting team, and advisor base
  • Create and deliver educational presentations, webinars, and demonstrations to drive advisor awareness and promotion of the advisor marketing solutions. As a key point of contact for advisor marketing, share best practice marketing tactics used to drive growth with advisors in enrolled in the solution
  • Unparalleled level of understanding of marketing and digital marketing including social media, SEM & SEO, retargeting/ digital ads, and other lead generation campaigns


  • Collaborate closely with other teams to ensure a quality client experience
  • Working closely with our business consulting team to support advisor initiatives and implement best practice marketing solutions that support advisor growth goals
  • Highly effectively identifies, attracts, nurtures, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and business partners to drive the success of the program
  • Identifies and execute strategies to establish and reinforce role as SME across the breadth of the advisor marketing solutions
  • A key contributor to the Advisor Marketing roadmap and feedback loop to ensure deficiencies are identified and resolved
  • Create awareness, enthusiasm, and commitment for advisor marketing solution both internally and externally with advisors


  • Create compelling content that supports the success of the program
  • Ensure measurement of key metrics relative to breadth of advisor marketing solutions area are identified, tracked for adoption and ROI, and vigilantly monitored.
  • Structure complex analytics independently and be accountable for business growth outcomes and implement, plan, track and report progress over time
  • Steward AssetMark's resources and reputation with discipline and care.

Basic Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years experience with coaching, management, and/or leading a team
  • 5+ years experience in marketing and digital marketing
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce, PPC, SEO & SEM
  • Solid knowledge of inbound marketing tools and web management
  • Working knowledge of web design principles, best practices, and content management platforms.
  • Ability to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and presence
  • Excellent program management skills
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills (high EQ)
  • Strong organizational leadership
  • Client services experience is a plus
  • Display authentic enthusiasm for delivering an extraordinary client experience
  • Demonstrated success working with sales teams and collaborating closely on sales marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Critical thinker and highly data-driven
  • Bias for action to problem solve & get things done
  • Excitement for learning, open to new experiences and challenges in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Embrace challenges with energy and optimism for the future
  • Good understanding of digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Adwords, & Hubspot

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • CRM experience preferred but not required
  • Financial services experience a plus, not required
  • Experience working with financial advisors highly preferred
  • Experience leading both B2C and sales marketing functions preferred
  • Knowledge in marketing automation platform experiences such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Vidyard, Zoom, and other marketing technologies.

Location and Travel:

  • Chicago or Concord area offices
  • Remote is ok but must be willing to work west coast hours and travel to the Concord office as needed for Executive meetings
  • Able to travel to company and industry events
