part of the Lake Health team.
The Company will provide the professional, unarmed security
services required to support Lake Health (LH), a 352-bed acute care
hospital system in a semi-urban setting. The specific
responsibilities designated to the security officers are outlined
in the position description for Security Officers. The Company will
also provide a full-time Security Director who will report to the
VP-PO&E. The Security Director will administer security-related
issues at all facilities and sites on behalf of LH. In addition,
there will be two full-time Security Supervisors: one at Lake West
Medical Center and one at TriPoint. Each will report to the
Security Director; they will manage day-to-day operations, guard
schedules, and security issues at their respective sites. There
will also be an Off-Site Security Manager/Safety Specialist who
will oversee the access and surveillance systems and assist with
other duties as required by the Director.
Essential Job Functions:
Security Director and/or his designees shall conduct Security
Risk Assessments, fire drills and other inspections as necessary at
Intermediate Life Safety Fire Drills as required for
Construction at LH facilities
All other current or future LH sites not mentioned here.
All related paperwork shall be completed in a timely manner to
ensure proper credit in accordance with The Joint Commission (TJC)
on the Accreditation of Healthcare
To be a participant and active member of LH' Environment of
Care/ Safety Committee. In addition, the Security Director will be
the chairperson of the Security Workgroup. The Security Director
will provide performance improvement measures and data in
accordance with LH methods for meeting TJC requirements.
To participate and/or conduct TJC Environment of Care safety and
environmental audits as requested or required.
Maintain records and produce reports as required by LH,
government agencies and regulatory bodies in a timely manner.
Participate as requested or required in safety and security
seminars, training and education for LHS orientation or other
related training programs.
Ensure that all security officers are initially oriented and
assessed for competency to perform as required in their related
duties and areas of responsibility at LH. An annual reassessment
will be done each year thereafter and records kept and maintained
to substantiate this requirement. LH reserves the right to request
those records at any time to ensure that this obligation is being
complied with on a routine basis.
The Security Director will conduct preliminary investigations
into theft or damage of property and incidents of bodily harm to
patients, visitors, and employees at LH.
The Security Director will research, recommend, purchase and
oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems,
cameras, VCRs and other technical equipment relevant to security.
The Security Director and/or designee will oversee the operations
of the LH security access system by taking pictures for employee ID
badges, assigning access levels as deemed appropriate by LHS
administration, and maintaining the computer data base for the
The Security Director will work with the locksmith to assist in
maintaining the integrity of the LHS lock and key access
The Security Director will oversee special projects, data
gathering, analysis and security related projects. He/she will
generate solutions, develop alternatives and make recommendations
The Security Director will communicate with contemporary skill
sets in office automation and office communication software.
The Security Director will proactively identify opportunities to
increase the efficiency within the Security Department at LHS and
make such recommendations. The Security Director will also be
proactive in identifying issues and macro trends likely to impact
the security of LHS facilities and periodically update LHS
leadership on such trends and offer mitigation strategies.
The Security Director will respond to incidents at all LHS sites
during and after business hours.
Education and Experience
:Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree
Preferred. Commission Police Officer State of Ohio
