Director Medical Staff Services - Full Time - Days Concord, New
Liaison between the Medical Staff, Medical Staff Departments,
and Hospital Management, keeping in mind the appropriate balance of
both physician and hospital needs. Leads, fosters and maintains
relationships between physicians, Senior Management and key
hospital departments (QA, Nursing, Risk Management, etc.).
Participates in Medical Staff department meetings, identifying
potential problems and conflicts. Thoroughly investigates and
analyzes issues, and makes clear recommendations on issues to the
Department Chairs and the President of the Medical Staff.
Implements recommendations when appropriate.
Advises the President of the Medical Staff, VP of Provider
Services and other physician leaders regarding issues related to
the implementation and evaluation of strategic medical services and
Develops and maintains physician Focused Professional Practice
Evaluations (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations
(OPPE) and provider performance profiles
Coordinates and manages disruptive and impaired providers
Oversees the administrative support for the Medical Staff
Officers and Department Chairs
Prepares status reports as requested for the Medical Staff
Officers, Hospital Administration, and the Board of Trustees.
Provides leadership in attaining appropriate Medical Staff
compliance with DNV and other Federal and State regulatory/advisory
agencies. Analyzes implications of regulations, makes
recommendations for compliance, and ensures all standards are
Facilitates physician leadership succession planning by
developing and maintaining programs addressing leadership,
mentoring, development, education and involvement.
Provides orientation, education and leadership to the Medical
Staff, Hospital Administration, Board of Trustees, and hospital
staff regarding the credentialing process, profile development,
reappointment methodologies and internal and regulatory reporting
Plans and participates heavily in the Joint Conference Committee
(JCC), Medical Executive Committee (MEC), Credentials Committee,
Leadership Council and the Professional Practice and Enhancement
Orients new members to the Credentials Committee and Joint
Conference Committee (Medical Staff, Hospital Administration, and
Board of Trustees).
Personal contact and resource for physicians and their practice
managers in order to address problems, issues or concerns that need
attention. Proactively visits physicians in their offices to
identify any needs or issues.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight
of credentialing and privileging processes, policies and procedures
for the Medical Staff and Health Professional Affiliates
Directs the reappointment process, coordinating results of the
Quality assurance/improvement process, integrates peer review
information, and facilitates the resolution of quality management
and other administrative issues with appropriate physician
Collaborates with and educates hospital departments creating
operational linkages and integration of information into the
reappointment process. This information includes safety management,
risk management, infection control, health information management,
quality improvement, and utilization management.
Maintains professional affiliations and performs other
activities necessary to enhance professional growth and
development, and to keep abreast of current trends in healthcare
leadership, medical staff leadership, governance and

Satisfaction survey, Medical Staff Reception
Plans and oversees administration of all day-to-day Medical
Staff Services department operations including Continuing Medical
Education, IRB (Human Investigation Committee), Observer Program,
Provider Enrollment, Credentialing Process (Initial Appointment and
Reappointment Process for the Medical Staff and Health Professional
Affiliates), Privileging, Orientation (Physicians, Department
Chairpersons, Health Professional Affiliates), Continuous Review of
Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, Support
Committees/Functions of the Medical Staff, and the Medical Staff
Oversees the administration and direction of all day-to-day Call
Center department operations.
