Job Description Job Description Please note relocation is required for this role to: Odessa, TX Clinical Lab Assistant - Emergency Department Full-Time Position (3 x 12 hours shifts) Schedule: 11:00am - 11:00pm - every other Sunday rotation (weekend rotation subject to change based on staffing needs of the unit) Job Summary: Performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently to collect patient samples Is trained to perform activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment Performs specified lab tests in Microbiology, Serology, Hematology and Urinalysis Participates in proficiency testing and performance improvement activities, while retaining full competency of skills Has thorough knowledge of in-house test requirements Able to receive and prioritize processing of specimens to include initiation of testing, verification of results and follow-up to ensure the timely completion of pending items Provides service to a wide variety of patients from infant to geriatric Responsible for maintaining a clean environment plus clean equipment. assists by taking inventory of reagents, ordering and stocking of materials as needed, stocking & rotating those older in expiration dates.
