Our Specialty offerings consist of Emergency, Critical Care, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery. About the role: As a Registered Veterinary Technician in the Internal Medicine department, some duties you will be responsible for include: - Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine department. - Assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures including blood work, imaging, and endoscopy. - Administer medications, IV fluids, and wound care treatments under veterinarian supervision. - Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their pet’s condition and treatment options. - Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilized. - Assist veterinarians during procedures such as biopsies and aspiration cytology. - Stay updated on advancements in internal medicine through continuing education. - Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. - Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment. - Other duties as assigned. Compensation: - $32 - $38 hourly determined by role and experience level. - $5.50/hr paid differential for any hours worked between 6pm-6am Schedule: - 7:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday No weekends! Basic required qualifications: - High school diploma - Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician license in the state of California. - Calm, professional demeanor. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Reliable time management and problem-solving skills; working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital. - Multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy. - Ability to work well independently as well as with a team. - Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations - High level of venipuncture skills, math calculations, and patient handling Preferred qualifications: - Experience in Specialty Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on internal medicine.
