Pay Information $2,618 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular ICU/Medical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cardiac ICU License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Open heart experience, Impella, and balloon pump experience Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU/Medical ICU position. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience. Experience with open heart procedures is essential. Candidates should be familiar with Impella and balloon pump management. Position will require floating between the Medical ICU and Cardiovascular ICU. Must possess current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Care of immediate post-operative cardiac surgery experience is preferred. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 to 2; IABP is not 1:1. The unit consists of 6 beds with 1 open bay. The role may involve following patients with common diagnoses such as AMI, AVR, MVR, respiratory failure, renal failure, IABP, CRRT, and therapeutic hypothermia. Invasive procedures like chest tube insertion, intubation, and emergency sternotomies are common. Travelers will have access to self-scheduling with the opportunity to make themselves available for extra shifts. Weekend and holiday shifts will be part of the commitment. Navy scrubs are required, with specific color guidelines for undershirts and optional scrub jackets. Candidates must be able to read and interpret EKG strips and work with vents. Hospitalist or intensivist coverage is available on-site. Travelers may float to other facilities as necessary. Common cancellation policy permits up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
