Annually The Contra Costa County Health Services (CCHS) Department
is offering an excellent career opportunity for qualified
individuals interested in the Lead Registered Dental Assistant
position. There is currently one vacancy assigned primarily to the
Public Health Clinic Services (PHCS) within the CCHS Services
Public Health Department located in Concord, CA. PHCS operates a
dental clinic for homeless adults in our licensed ambulatory
Respite Clinic, three dental clinics in school-based health centers
in Contra Costa that serve children and teens, and two mobile
dental clinics that provide dental services to children, youth and
homeless adults. All dental clinics operated by PHCS are licensed
by CCHS and are part of the CCHS system of care. The Lead
Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for providing lead
direction to and coordinating the work of Registered Dental
Assistants (RDA) working with homeless patients at the Concord
Respite Clinic, school-age children in School-Based Dental clinics,
and school-aged children and homeless adults in the mobile dental
clinics; and performing related work as required. The position
requires travel to various dental clinic locations within Contra
Costa County and to internal and outside partner meetings. We are

Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's
License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will
be accepted during the application process. AND Possession of a
current license as a Registered Dental Assistant by the Dental
Board of California. Certification: Possession of a current Basic
Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) issued by the American Red
Cross throughout the duration of employment. May be required to
possess a valid sealant certification for specific Public Health
programs. Experience: Two years of full-time, or its equivalent,
experience performing the duties of a registered dental assistant
in a hospital or clinic setting. The Board of Supervisors have
authorized the following future salary increases: 5% on July 1,
