Position #TMPPT5633 Part-Time, 1st Shift Labor Grade 28 Direct Care
$.50/hr Plus a 15% Enhancement The State of New Hampshire,
Department of Health and Human Services, New Hampshire Hospital has
a part time vacancy for a Nurse Practitioner (APRN). Summary: Under
the direction of the Director of Patient Care Services, the
Administrative Director of Medical and Psychiatric Services and the
clinical direction of the Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer,
works collaboratively with the health care team to provide
comprehensive diagnostic medical services and examinations.
Develops and implements individualized patient care and treatment
within a specific scope of practice. Independently prescribes
pharmacologic drugs authorized by RSA 326-B:10a. Responsibilities:
Functions as the primary clinician/practitioner for a select group
of patients through application of scientific knowledge and current
standards of care in the assessment patient medical /family needs,
diagnosis, applicable treatment planning (to achieve both short and
long term patient outcomes) and management of patient medical
problems. Provides skilled specialty services of: medical
assessment; psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families,
groups; prescription, administration and monitoring of medications
and their effects; and coordination of care with interdisciplinary
and interagency treatment teams as well as family members. Acts as
a resource to all members of the health care team by: establishment
of appropriate care standards necessary to achieve optimal patient
outcomes; assessment, development and implementation of a plan to
meet learning needs relevant to the care standards; and evaluation
of progress/achievement of care standards. In collaboration with
others, assess the learning needs of specific patient populations
and develops patient/family educational tools, classes or programs.
Ensures that both practice and professional standards are
identified and maintained in the delivery of patient care and that
mutually determined patient outcomes are achieved. Address diverse
patient care situations in a manner, which reflects integration and
analysis of data, directing and coordinating all aspects of
patient, care management. Maintains accountability for own
professional growth through continuing education and other
scholarly efforts. Promotes excellence in patient care while
supporting and facilitating professional growth and development and
upholding standards of professionalism. Assumes administrative
and/or clinical responsibility for achieving facility and patient
objectives. Maintains accountability for own professional growth
through continuing education and other scholarly efforts. Provides
direct care to patients whose behavior may be unpredictably violent
or otherwise physically or psychologically disagreeable or
dangerous. Maintains compliance with established hospital and
departmental safety policies and procedures by: -maintaining
competency in hospital approved Crisis Management Program (CMP) and
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adults,
infants, children and AED training. -observing, monitoring and
evaluating delivery of patient care being rendered, reviewing
patient records. Supervisors Workplace Safety Accountabilities
Ensures compliance with established hospital and departmental
safety policies and procedures by: -- Conducting periodic (minimum
quarterly basis) on site reviews; -- Completing competency based
review, when applicable; -- Providing on the spot
reinforcement/training on safety issues; referring staff to formal
training programs, as appropriate and; -- Recording safety related
initiatives for annual reporting. * Total Commitment to Quality *
Supports the organizational mission, philosophy, goals, and
objectives as demonstrated by a positive leadership presence in
unit based, departmental, hospital wide, or in public
meetings/committees. * Contributes to the process of continuous
quality improvement by supporting unit-based, interdepartmental and
hospital-wide quality improvement activities. Demonstrates
commitment to customer service value in professional conduct and by
promoting such values in assigned staff. Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree from a recognized college, institute or
university with major study in nursing, and graduation from an
advanced practice registered nurse program that meets
qualifications established by the Board of Nursing Examiners for
the specialty of Medical Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
Experience: One year of experience as an advanced practice
registered nurse (APRN) in the field of Medical Nursing or
Psychiatric Nursing. License/Certification: Advanced Practice
Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the New Hampshire Board
of Nursing. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
