USNH Finance & Administration Operations Summary of Position
Reporting to and collaborating with the Assistant Vice Chancellor,
Financial Affairs, and the Finance Area Lead for the Workday
implementation, this position serves as the workstream lead for the
implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning functionality as part
of USNH's system wide Enterprise Resource Planning program
implementation. This position will be a key member of the Program
implementation Team and the University System-wide Finance Team.
This individual will partner with the selected software
implementation partner to architect, design, configure and test the
Workday Adaptive Planning functionality to meet the needs of the
organization and develop business processes that will utilize both
quantitative and qualitative analyses for operational aspects of
the organization to evaluate the organization's progress toward
achieving its goals. This individual will play a critical role in
considering economic and business trends, reviewing past
performance, and anticipating potential issues, with the goal of
forecasting the entity's future financial results. This individual
will work collaboratively with the finance and implementation teams
as well as cross-functionally with departments across the
University System of New Hampshire. Acceptable minimum level of

- Master's Degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Experience with Workday Finance and the Workday Adaptive
Planning functionality
- Experience implementing Enterprise Resource Planning software
in complex organizations
- Experience with change management and/or recent organizational
redesigns
- Experience operating or leading in a Shared Services support
model
- Experience working for a higher-education organization
- Experience working for a tax-exempt organization
- Credentials for finance (e.g., Certified Financial Planner,
Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered
Global Management Accountant, Chartered Management Accountant) or
law/policy (e.g., JD or LLB ) Salary Information Salary is

Responsibilities Job Duties Duty/Responsibility
- As the Financial Planning & Analysis workstream lead, provide
strategic leadership for the design and configuration, and ongoing
maintenance of the financial planning and analysis ERP tools.
(Workday Adaptive Planning)
- Establish consolidated budget and financial forecasting
business processes, short-term and long-term, for the entire
University System which will aggregate the financial data from all
institutions and provide relevant information, analysis, metrics,
and data regarding University System-wide financial planning
activities to ensure internal and external requirements are met
(Board of Trustees, Presidents' Council and other Executive
Councils, Faculty, Staff, State of NH, bond holders, etc.); this
includes developing financial models and functionality, financial
data/information/reports, and business requirements to budget and
forecast revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities, and cash
flow
- Develop a deep knowledge of University System-wide and
Institutional needs, priorities, and context; aligns strategic
planning with institutional and University System-wide goals.
- Direct workstream team members and business units in a
collaborative manner; builds teams, motivates, guides, and
mentors.
- Establishes relevant and useful Key Performance Indicators,
Dashboards and other tools appropriate for USNH including
competitor analysis, economic and market trends as well as other
meaningful insights into business performance.
- Supports the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Financial Affairs, and
the ERP Finance Area Lead in all FP&A-related areas and liaises
with other stakeholders and Systemwide leaders.
- Reviews existing processes and procedures to develop
recommendations for improvement; Prepares business cases to support
business decisions.
- Minimizes variations in USNH wide processes and policies and
drives strategic direction in alignment with USNH and institutional
mandates and priorities in the most efficient and effective
manner.
- Seeks out methods and practices to minimize financial risk to
both the institutions and the USNH as a whole.
- Resolves problems and responds to questions concerning
systemwide FP&A activities.
- Effectively communicates information and conclusions from
financial data across all levels of the organization, including
executives.
