The Vice President, Operations Technology of is a senior-level position with authority and responsibility over the Applications Development Team focused on critical initiatives for our Operations and Service Platforms, that will lead the architecture, build and deliver a comprehensive technology strategy for the modernization of our Operations and Services platform. This role will also have authority and responsibility over the Solutions Delivery Teams focused on those critical areas.

The Vice President, Operations Technology is a key member of the Information Technology leadership team, reporting to the Chief Application Officer and supporting the technology landscape and future direction for operations technology at AssetMark. This role will provide strategic vision and leadership for planning, architecture design and implementation of the information technology initiatives in support of the operations functions in order to improve overall efficiency, service quality and business performance. This role will drive the overall transformation agenda, while continuing to deliver reliable IT services that are in place today.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to any of our office locations in either Concord, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Encino, CA; Chicago, IL; or Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct an applications development solutions group.
  • Develop the IT Operations technology roadmap and framework in support of the Operations priorities which will become the basis for business/IT priorities as well as the future technology strategy
  • Lead the Agile transformation for the IT and Operations team
  • Champion our cloud and containerization initiatives on behalf of strategic delivery
  • Establish a trusted, close touch relationship with the business product team. Interfacing with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Supplement internal resources with outside expertise as required
  • Develop and mentor a high performing team, focused on timely delivery and creative solutions, ensuring succession as well as their own people development objectives
  • Manage offshore resources, ensuring vendor alignment with AssetMark's strategic goals and interests
  • Stay current on industry trends and leading technologies and have a burning desire to provide the best customer experience

      Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree required
      • Minimum of 15 years' progressive technology engineering or technology-focused management experience
      • Minimum of 10 years' experience leading a software engineering team, preferably including Operations platforms
      • Experience in Financial Services (Wealth Management / Investment Banking / Brokerage Services) experience or equivalent education experience, required
      • Superior technical proficiency; well versed in Cloud technology and hands-on technical abilities
      • Extensive software engineering background; tenure with forward-leaning world-class technology organizations known for superior customer experience; preferably with financial services experience
      • Excellent Delivery track record driven by business value
      • Extensive experience with Agile and product management methodologies
      • Extensive experience with multi-site team management with offshore vendor teams
      • Proven experience driving/disrupting the business through technology innovation
