Job Description:
St. Paul's School seeks a full-time Director of Counseling
Services. This faculty position will report to the Medical Director
and the Vice Rector for School Life. The Director of Counseling
Services will work closely with the Medical Director and the Vice
Rector for School Life to develop and implement wellness
initiatives to foster student well-being and support social
emotional growth. Within the framework of an integrated health care
model, the Director of Counseling Services oversees the counseling
department, providing clinical supervision to the counselors and
consultation services to faculty and staff as they work to support
students' mental health and well-being. In addition, the Director
of Counseling Services supports the health and well-being of all
students, provides direct services to students, evaluates and
diagnoses students encountering psychological difficulties
including recommending and coordinating treatment plans, triaging,
and providing therapy. The Director also works collaboratively with
other members of the Health Center and faculty. A strong background
in child and adolescent development, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and
collaborative treatment models are necessary. The Director of
Counseling Services is responsible for overseeing the
administrative work of the counseling department, which includes
excellent documentation on an electronic medical record system.
There are also shared on-call responsibilities when school is in
session. St. Paul's is a completely residential, co-educational,
Episcopal, secondary school in Concord, NH, welcoming to all

addition to teaching or administrative responsibilities, faculty at
St. Paul's School are responsible for a variety of activities
typical to the boarding school environment. The Director of
Counseling Services will not take on advising or coaching
responsibility, but may be involved in supporting other activities
and working collaboratively on school committees, supporting
student initiatives that align with mental health and wellness,
participating in design and implementation of student leadership
training, and other duties as applicable. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must have an advanced mental health degree
(doctoral degree preferred) and hold a current New Hampshire
license. Familiarity with the boarding school milieu, some
emergency triage experience, and experience providing counseling
and psychoeducation in the area of substance use and eating
disorders is highly desirable. SALARY: Competitive, based on
