Hampshire,--Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of
Information Services--has a full time vacancy for Senior Project
Manager. SUMMARY:
Provides services, as a member of the DHHS Project Management
Office, to identify, plan, initiate, manage, track, report and
successfully deliver strategic and operational initiatives in
alignment with the department mission. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management Practice
Provides project management services for strategic and operational
initiatives
Reports project status to stakeholders and executive management
Facilitates the identification and quantification of risks and
manages the risk mitigation process
Assists in resolution of resource constraints, intra- and
inter-project issues and obstacles that threaten the successful
delivery of projects
Conducts project reviews, assessments and post-project reviews
Develops, communicates and reinforces project management
standards
Assists project teams to adopt project management best practices
and provides training and coaching as needed
Acts as a change agent to influence the organizational culture to
integrate project management thinking into daily activities
Project Management Process
Assists to maintain department project portfolio
Assists in development and maintenance of the repository of project
management methodologies including techniques, standards, templates
and tools
Assists in development of IT RFIs, RFPs and contracts
Assists with integration of Department's program and technology
May serve as coach/mentor on assigned projects
Performs other duties as assigned by Director, Project Management
Office MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in
business administration, management, public administration,
information systems, project management, or other relevant
discipline. 10 years of pertinent work experience with a minimum of
five years of program or project management experience. Experience
in Government / public sector preferred. A portion of that
experience should include complex initiatives that rely on
information technology systems. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid
driver's license and/or access to transportation for use in
statewide travel. Project Management Professional (PMP)
certification preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability
to multi-task are very important. Collaborative, inclusive style.
Exemplary interpersonal, listening, and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical
skills. Responds and follows-through on assigned tasks in a timely
and professional manner. Knowledge of methodologies and project
management best practices. Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and
PowerPoint required. Familiarity with MS Project and Visio desired.
