Vice President, Product Strategy

The Vice President, Investment Product Strategy will work as a
member of the Investment Product Strategy, Development and
Management team at AssetMark, Inc. In this capacity, the VP will
report to the SVP, Product Strategy and Development and work with
senior management to define vision, scope and roadmap for
investment solutions and services available to clients on the
AssetMark platform, as well as, lead other strategic programs that

Strategy team, which is focused on driving our product and solution
vision, evaluating new product and solution opportunities, and
leading key strategic growth initiatives with a keen focus on
client need and business impact. As an expert in product strategy
and development, the VP analyzes market, industry, competitive and
client data to identify and prioritize market opportunities that
accelerate revenue and increase market share and profitability. The
team also supports the company's strategic planning process,
aligning product investment plans to corporate imperatives and
financial targets, while contributing to the development of new
product plans and strategies. The team will collaborate with
investment, distribution, finance and other support organizations
in plan development and closely partner / advise with product
managers on product strategy, business case development, roadmap
prioritization and planning. A well-qualified candidate expresses
an insatiable desire to continue expanding their knowledge, can
think like a visionary but act strategically, and has an
outstanding ability to define and deconstruct problems while
intuitively recommending solutions. The position will require you
to work cross functionally, partner closely with sales and key
clients so that you are positioned to advocate and present customer
centric initiatives to senior management. You excel in a
fast-paced, challenging, collaborative and "hands on" environment
where everyone is in it together. Key responsibilities of the
- Provides data driven insights to executive leadership on
market, industry and client trends across short-term (one to three
year) and long-term (three to five year) time horizons.
- Translates market, financial advisor, and investor trends,
competitive intelligence and cross-functional input / analysis into
actionable and innovative roadmap initiatives.
- Craft & execute on clear plans to research/analyze issues,
explore new ideas & solutions, and work towards decisions.
- Develops top-grade executive presentations and leads
presentations or discussions that support decision alignment or
promote awareness with leadership teams.
- Influences leaders with credible, independent, and objective
points of view.
- Develops and runs strategy programs driving alignment across
product and cross functional teams around critical strategic
imperatives, product initiatives, technology trends.
- Advises product managers on roadmap; proactively helping them
prioritize plans and helping ensure execution of the vision.
- Navigate, influence and build relationships across the
organization and diverse groups.
- Excels at balancing multiple projects and priorities over
- Lead the development of robust competitor and platform product
and services analytic reporting; helping us monitor and assess
health of the business.
- Lead, manage, and develop the product strategy team.--
- Bachelor's degree in business or other related fields.
- 10+ years of relevant experience. A combination of corporate
strategy, product strategy, product development, or a similar role
with another turnkey asset management platform (TAMP) or financial
services firm is highly preferred. Knowledge/Skill Requirements The
ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive and direct experience in the product strategy and
development of managed accounts, model driven investment solutions
and other financial and wealth management services used by
financial advisors when servicing their clients.
- Solid understanding of Broker-Dealer and RIA distribution
channels, including an understanding of how TAMPs function within
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills with ability
to leverage quantitative and qualitative approaches to develop
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple large projects by
leading the Product Strategy team and other functional SMEs.
- Self-motivated, biased toward action, capable of defining
objectives and delivering workstreams start to finish with limited
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable with all levels of management and able to communicate
and present effectively to executive audiences.
