In this position, you will focus on the decomposition and design of complex training device features and interfaces. You will work in a fast-paced, modern, agile development environment, and collaborate closely with software and hardware to build and test advanced mission capabilities and features. This position requires a US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain SAP access. This position is onsite in Sterling, Virginia, and most of the job functions are performed inside of a closed area. What YOU will do: Define and derive systems engineering requirements, including interface definitions and requirement verification and validation Define operational concepts and support working groups with customers. Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to support the development cycle using Cameo. Contribute to agile planning meetings and help define acceptance criteria for features based on customer requirements. Participate in customer demonstrations of new features or prototypes and incorporate customer feedback into our designs. Influence decisions within your work area and promote modular and efficient system designs. Coach and review the work of junior engineers. May lead small development efforts or processes within work area. Provide estimates for development efforts. Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and technical excellence. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience Active and transferable U.S. DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with MBSE and model-based design. Experience developing, allocating, and maintaining system requirements. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with leadership and other engineering disciplines. Experience supporting a government customer. Experience with Python for test automation. Experience with Cameo modeling tool. Experience working within a Requirements management tool (Doors, Jama, etc.) Experience with avionics systems, interfaces, and standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, etc.) Experience developing training devices. A successful candidate exhibits leader-like qualities and has a willingness to share their knowledge and build up their peers. May have broad knowledge of project management. The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
