humans around! About the Strategic Materials Planning Team
Zipline's Strategic Materials Program team sits at the core of our
ability to scale globally. As a Materials Program Manager, you will
play a critical role in ensuring that Zipline's supply chain is
positioned for long-term success - where success means we have the
right plans, suppliers, and material readiness to meet evolving
build and product requirements. The Role As a Material Planning
Intern, you will support the strategic planning and operational
execution required to ensure material availability for Zipline's
hardware programs. You'll work closely with Engineering, Global
Supply Management (GSM), Manufacturing, Quality, and the broader
Materials team to improve reporting workflows, strengthen supplier
communication, and help drive readiness for major systems. This is
a highly cross-functional role for someone who is detail-oriented,
eager to learn, and excited to contribute to the operational
backbone that enables Zipline to scale. This internship is based
out of our HQ in South San Francisco, California. What You'll Do
Assist in maintaining Clear to Build (CTB) tracking for one of
Zipline's major systems, helping identify and resolve risks, update
planning inputs, and communicating status across teams. Build
dashboards and automated reports that increase visibility into
critical shipments, escalations, part shortages, and other key
material planning metrics. Enhance spares planning & execution by
analyzing consumption, recommending stocking strategies, and
supporting operational execution for active programs. Create and
refine standardized formats for suppliers to provide shipping
schedules, capacity updates, and other planning informaton Build
scalable planning tools, dashboards, and workflows that improve
cross-functional visibility and reporting. What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply
Chain, Operations, or another technical/analytical field. An MBA or
Master's in Supply Chain is a plus. Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills, with experience working in spreadsheets or
data tools (Excel at a minimum; SQL, Python, etc. is a plus)
Ability to clearly communicate findings and collaborate with
cross-functional partners. A proactive, self-starter mindset.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, proposing solutions, and driving
execution. Excitement for Zipline's mission and desire to
contribute from day 1 of the internship. What Else You Should Know
Our internships are full-time positions, in-person at our South San
Francisco or Dallas office. We will host our Summer 2026 interns
from May or June to August. Candidates are limited to three (3)
applications within a 30-day period. The starting cash range for
this internship is $34 - 38/ hour. Please note that this is a
target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum
qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will
depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's
experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total
compensation package for each role may also include: a housing
stipend; overtime pay; relocation support; paid sick time; and
