Cyber Security Engineer
Job Summary:
Our client in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Design and develop in-house Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), and investigative tools. Focus on building scalable, automated security solutions, including end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of key components within our large-scale data infrastructure to enhance automation, insights, and security measures.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and deploy scalable, production-ready software to enable automation and data-driven decision-making, emphasizing resilience, performance, and security.
  
• Support the Enterprise Cybersecurity Operations team by creating automated solutions to reduce manual effort.
  
• Design event-driven, scalable systems for timely alerts and automation, improving responsiveness for cybersecurity and external stakeholders.
  
• Integrate new data sources into our data lake to enhance visibility and security coverage, focusing on reusable, automated data ingestion processes.
  
• Support the integration of new tools and technologies within the cybersecurity environment.
  
  What You Will Need:
  Basics:
  
  • 
    
  • 4-7 years experience in Data Engineering and AI/ML.
    
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (Python, Go, Java) and SQL, with a track record of scalable, maintainable solutions.
    
  • Expertise in distributed data processing, high-volume data services, or real-time analytics platforms.
    
  • Proficiency with cloud and data infrastructure technologies such as AWS, Databricks, Terraform, Apache Spark, Docker.
    
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and data integration techniques for secure, scalable data flow.
    
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
    
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern software development practices.
    
  • Salary range: $108,000 - $148,000 annually.
