The Opportunity We are seeking a detail oriented and driven -Corporate Tax Accountant to be involved in all areas of tax, regulatory compliance and reporting to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. This position will serve as an internal resource by quantifying, analyzing and reporting on transaction-based taxes, and provide support for other tax obligations of our US entities. The primary responsibilies include: -

  • Preparation of monthly sales & use tax reports and filing of returns
  • Completion of monthly account reconciliations for tax related G/L accounts
  • Monitoring sales and use tax obligations, including analyzing taxability of transactions and applicability of exemptions
  • Maintaining exemption certificates and sales tax matrices
  • Research and resolve tax authority inquiries and assist the defense of tax audits
  • Contribute to the annual business filing administration for various US entities
  • Support the compliance with income, payroll and other tax obligations
  • Conduct tax research and handle special projects as needed.
    The right candidate for this position will have the following skills/experience: -
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
    • CPA certification and/or MS in Tax preferred
    • At least 2 years of corporate tax accounting and compliance experience
    • Well-developed knowledge of US GAAP, accounting close, accounting related principles
    • Ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize and multi-task
    • An energetic and positive, can-do approach
    • Efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while prioritizing effectively
    • Diligent and well organized with a responsible attitude and attention to detail
    • Able to work independently within the framework of a multi-layered, global team that operates in several different time zones
    • Willingness to develop as a consultant to Company management and staff on tax-related issues.
    • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel (in particular), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as other common accounting software.
      This is a hybrid role that will require a minimum of 3-days in person at our location in Concord,MA and 2-days working remotely. This requirement is subject to change in the future. Oxford Instruments Perks and benefits:
